    Tool system software for a tool magazine in a machining center was evaluated by combining machine states with starting commands, using an L18 orthogonal array. As a result, by the addition of combinations of machine states and starting commands that the designers had not anticipated, and which were not included in the conventional tests carried out on the basis of the operating specifications of the tool system, software bugs were discovered more efficiently than before.

    Deodorant face masks generally make use of activated carbon. Activated carbon removes odors by physical adsorption, but adsorptioll of malodorous components in the extremely short time during which they pass through the mask is difficult to achieve, so these deodorant masks have fallen short of requisite deodorizing performance. A newly developed deodorant face mask of the nonwoven fabric type employs a high performance inorganic deodorizing agent that removes odors in an extremely short time by use of both physical adsorption and chemical reaction. After consideration of methods of evaluating the requisite deodorizing performance, the mask was optimized by assigning the deodorant processing conditions of a nonwoven fabric mask to an L18 orthogonal array with the amount of malodorous gas supplied as the input and the amount captured as the output, and introducing noise factors based on contemplated conditions of use. It was confirmed that in deodorizing performance, the newly developed deodorant face mask was superior to activated carbon masks.

    The purpose of this project was to study a universal methodology for stimulating business innovation in order to create new industries and businesses through the specific case study of a quality engineering qualification system by combining quality engineering with a business model, evaluating the conceptual design of the business model, and attempting to envision an ecosystem that would lead to an optimum quality engineering qualification system and the greater use of quality engineering, or at least accelerate thesetrends. System design was carried out by evaluating the condition of the overall system, making use of virtual design. Merits such as the capability to make individual differences in people s sets of values, which can become the starting points for the creation of new value, more visible were identified, together with topics for future study.
