  • ―品質工学による複合加工効果の定量的把握―

    In recent years, the demands has been increasing for products such as laser beam printer optical components, injector heads, or magnetic recording heads. These products are used to control light, ion, fluid or magnetics in graphic technology. To obtain more efficient and precise machining, new processes have been evaluated including MEEC and IPD processing. The MEEC process combines both electrolysis and electric discharge. For IPD processing, the grinder is dressed during processing. This process used quality engineering methodologies to evaluate MEEC/IPD machining process. SN ratios were used to evaluate processing width, wheel wear and processing resistance. Confimed results include reduction of processing resistance by the dissolving materials due to electrolysis in MEEC. ln addition, IPD current was especially effective at high processing speeds where grinding resistance is high.

    The heat generating materials used for body warmers consist of iron powder, activated charcoal, water, salt and water retainer. These materials are packed in an air-permeable inner bag, which is further enclosed in the air-tight outer bag. Recently, the demand for such body warmers has been rapidly increasing because of their convenience. But when the ambient temperature at which a body warmer is used changes, the user may feel too warm or too cold. The user feels warm when entering a heated room or feels cold when going outside. This is because the temperature generated by the body warmer varies depending on the environmental temperature.This study, using quality engineering methods, attempts to develop a formula maintaining a constant temperature which is not affected by enviromental temperature changes.

    In quality engineering, non-dynamic characteristics have been used for flow analysis simulation in an injection molding process. But in actual injection molding experimentation,dynamic characteristics are used. Therefore, there is a lack of contrast for both approaches. Recently, the WARP ANALYSIS, a simulation software, was developed to indicate the degree of deformation of an injection molded product by moving the points which compose "product model mesh". In this paper, dynamic characteristic analysis was applied to express the relationship between the input and the output distances. In flow analysis simulation for plastic injection molding, it is desirable to quantify dimensional accuracy or dimensional defects by a simple figure. The results of this study showed that the approach is useful to do so.

    Due to rapid development of technology and the shortage of young engineers, the development of technology is becoming harder and harder. Although it is believed that the introduction of quality engineering is the key to solve this problem, there is a necessity to quickly learn quality engineering approaches. ln this paper, discussions are presented on the selection and provision of the contents and database required for a student who is a beginner having no knowledge about quality engineering to conduct an experiment.
