According to the new curriculum guidelines issued in 2008 for elementary and junior high schools and issued in 2009 for high schools, a strand for statistics has been newly established in mathematics. Then all students must now learn the basic statistics and school educators draw their attentions what the new curriculum guidelines imply for statistics education. In this article, I show first the current background where statistics education is needed in knowledge-based society and secondly give a concrete explanation on a modernized framework of statistics education to be promoted internationally, where it is paid more attention for students to develop their problemsolving skills and competencies. Finally I show the table of statistics contents treated in the new national curriculum in Japan and discuss the need to support school education through industry-academia cooperation towards future human resource development.

The issue of quality is frequent in every social field, and "reconstruction of the country by quality" is demanded. A quality manager is the talented person who regards the quality that we understand quality technology definitely, can practice, and consider quality first. As well as result, all processes of healthcare service are evaluated from all stakeholders. A quality manager in healthcare is all staffs as well as the managerial class and the education person in charge. In Nerima General Hospital, we regard a post about quality as the director direct control. We are rare in healthcare world, but install a quality assurance room. We build information infrastructure and utilize information and plan quality improvement and depend on a thought, as a result, to safety. We develop Medical Quality Improvement (MQI) activity. A staff of quality assurance room and an MQI promotion committee are core of a quality manager. Realization of quality namely customer satisfaction (CS) is made much of, but does not become it to get customer satisfaction if there is not employee satisfaction (ES). By cooperation with healthcare world and engineering world / industry, an action from the viewpoint of quality improvement / quality management considerably advances.

Design review is one of the most important methods to prevent product problems. While the design review is applied to prevent problem at many stages, unpredictable problems occur after releasing to the market. This paper proposes an approach to make design review maturing by analyzing the past trouble data and utilizing the data analysis results into design review process. Specifically, the approach focuses on the relationships between trouble phenomena and parts and among parts in the data analysis. The results of the data analysis are utilized as items for the design review to prevent the problem occurrence. Furthermore, the effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated by the case study of this approach.
