This paper describes how to decide optimal operational period minimizing expected life cycle cost when a part of a system is reused. A system has two kinds of failures, i.e., a fatal failure and a non-fatal, repairable failure. If the system has not failed in fatal by the end of operational period, profit is gained from reusable components. The profit is assumed to be decreasing in time. We propose two maintenance models. It is shown that there exits the optimal operating term under reasonable conditions. Furthermore, numerical analysis is carried out to show the validity of our models.
