Sabo projects carring on in the developing countries give us sabo engineers good fields for the technica
cooperation.
This report was made based on some ten 〈10〉 years experiences in the field of technical cooperation ox
sabo engineerings in Indonesia.
Two phases must be recognized on the process of technical cooperation, the first and the second. Or
the first phase, we aim at transfering our technology one by one by man to man method. But on the
second phase, our cooperation must be so called “technical transplant”.
The key to our success is to understand the background on which our technology stands.
And the most important thing to be taken as the planning element is the land forming process in the
area of active volcanoes. Especially in Java, land forming 〈alluvial fan forming〉 is now going on geo
graphically, so that sabo planning has to take this into concideration and artificial alluvial fan forming
method must be applied in the critical area that should be called the buffer zone.
The caracteristics of the sabo project as a measure for technical and economic cooperation are alsc
discussed.
