The purpose of the present investigation is to study the effect of steroid hormones and pregnant serum on L.Alp activity in in vivo as well as in vitro.
At first, we confirmed that this enzyme was increased by estriol and cortisol. These steroids act as an activator to migrate of matured neutrophile leucocyte from the extravascular pool to systemic blood stream.
Secondary, we successfully detected that the marked increase of activator of L.Alp in the pregnant serum, which elevated gradually with gestational stage.
In analysis of this activator, the molecular weight was from 10, 000to 50, 000, heatstable in 56°C for 30min.
This activating factor was released from placental tissue, which was different from HCG.
From above mentioned result, it was considered that the monitoring of L.Alp activity during pregnancy may be a sensitive indicator for the purpose of the early detection of the abnormal feto-placental function with the wide clinical application.
