Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) has facilitated safer, more convenient, and less uncomfortable pelvic angiography for the patient. Moreover, the time density curve for contrast medium in a lesion can be quantitatively analyzed by computing the digital data for the visual images of the tumor.
In this study, we applied DSA in the quantitative analysis of lesions of patients with persistent trophoblastic disease by computing the time density curve of contrast medium in tumor lesions and analyzed the following 3 parameter s : 1) minimum time to peak ; 2) upward slope ; and, 3) downward slope
We found that the time density curve of patients with invasive mole showed wash-out pattern, in which the density of the contrast medium decreased smoothly after reaching its peak, while that in patients with choriocarcinoma showed accumulation with retention of the contrast medium in the tumor lesion.
These observations suggest that the quantitative analysis of persistent trophoblastic disease using DSA can be useful in the differential diagnosis of invasive mole and choriocarcinoma.

In recent years, many authors reported about the association between antiphospholipid antibodies and recurrent spontaneous abortion including intrauterin fetal death, especially in such cases of positive lupus anticoagulant and anticardiolipin antibodies.
In this study, four pregnant women who were diagnosed as antiphospholipid antibody syndrome and one pregnant women with anticardiolipin antibodies and a history of 13times recurrent abortions, were all subjected to treatments with low-dose aspirin and heparin. Four of these five subjects successfully gave birth to live infants.
This result confirmed the usefulness of a regimen of low-dose aspirin and heparin treatments for recurrent fetal losses associated with the existence of antiphospholipid antibodies.

Intra-arterial chemotherapy with CDDP and THP-ADM was administered to a patient with squamous call carcinoma of the vagina (T2NxMo) by Selginger's method. The left uterine artery was occluded, and 50mg of CDDP and 20mg of THP-ADM were injected twice into the right uterine artery. MRI showed that the tumor size was redused to 61.2% in the sagital view and 52.1% in the transverse view. The SCC level decreased markedly after two intra-arterial infusiona. Radical hysterectomy was then performed. The tumor (7.2×8.3×3.3cm) was in the posterior wall of the upper portion of the vagina. No metasteses were found in the adjacent organs or pelvic lymph nodes.

With the present decline in tuberculosis, genital tuberculosis has become rare. The macroscopic appearance of cervical tuberculosis is similar to that of cervical cancer, and the rate of misdiagnosis is reported to be high. We present a recent case of cervical tuberculosis, together with a review of the literature.
A 42-year-old multipara with no past history of tuberculosis presented with chief complaint of fever and lower abdominal pain. On pelvic examination, a fragile round swelling of 1.5 cm diameter was noted on the cervix, and hard resistence was palpable from the left parametrium to the pelvic wall. These findings were consistent with cervical cancer. Histological examination of a biopsy specimen taken from the cervix demonstrated granulomas containing epithelioid cells and Langhans giant cells, and the diagnosis of tuberculosis was made. Total abdominal hysterectomy and resection of the bilateral swollen obturator lymph nodes were performed. Pathological examination of the cervix and body of the uterus, and the bilateral obturator lymph nodes of the extirpated specimen revealed the same findings as in the cervical biopsy, and the most marked findings were in the cervix. Postoperative systemic examination revealed no tuberculous lesions in other organs. The patient was treated with antituberculous chemotherapy consisting of oral INH, RFP and EB for ten months, and her clinical course has been uneventful.
