It is generally difficult to bake a sponge cake without using wheat flour and egg white. In this paper, we developed new technology for baking the sponge cake by using the crystalline and amorphous starch without adding wheat flour and egg white, and by controlling rheological prop-erties of the sponge cake batter. For producing sponge cakes with high expansion ratios, the ap-propriate mixing ratio of rice flour to water was 1:0.9. Foaming of sponge cake developed effec-tively when gelatinization and foaming of the batter occurred simultaneously.

Weldline in injection molding is a serious problem that causes poor appearance and reduction of mechanical properties. Thus, in addition to position of weld line, it is important to predict the width and depth of weld line groove in design of molding parts. In this study, we investigated the relationship between molding conditions and weld line groove using polystyrene injection molded plate, which has counter flow weld. Moreover, resin flow in weld part during injection molding was observed and the relationship between the depth of weld line groove and shape of flow front was investigated. In the results of experiment, with the increase in temperature of mold, the width and depth of weld groove decreased. In addition, the width and depth of weld line groove changed with injection rate conditions, and it was shown that weld line groove is affected by resin flow behavior. As observed result of resin flow, correlation was found between flow front lengthanddepthofwaneld groove. This result suggested the depth of weld line groove can be pre-dicted from the flow front length.
