In this study, nineteen random pattems of three-color combination with reversal, rotational andregion reversal symmetry and 3D manikins wearmg clothing with the random pattems were prepared, and the color combination preferences were investigated between Chinese and Japanese Students. Stimuli of 3D semi-fomal suits with the patterns were simulated on twelve manikins ofvarious nationalities, genders and age groups. A Likert 5-point scale was used to evaluate thesuitability of the color combinations. The relationships of the color combination preference withnationality, gender, and age group were examined. The data obtained from 102 Chinese and 153Japanese students were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis with SPSS and simultaneousfactor analysis for several groups using the program Amos (Analysis of Moment Structures).Almost no difference for the manikin's gender, but a few for the manikin's nationality and age wereobserved in the color combination preferences.
