This study examined the effect of the introduction of “slacks for girls,” which has strong symbolism, As a result, it was found that the number of items that can be selected and worn as school uniforms increased for both boys and girls, and that the wearing rate of “slacks for girls” was about 10%, and that even if they were introduced, they were not always worn. It was also found that “slacks for girls” are not always worn, even when introduced. In addition, it became clear that “slacks for girls” were introduced with the expectation of improving gender and diversity awareness and climate adaptation behavior among students, and that while the effects of the introduction of the slacks have become apparent after the introduction, the effects have not yet been sufficient to meet these expectations. The model change of school uniforms and the introduction of “slacks for girls” not only increase the number of choices in school uniforms, but also enrich the school life of students and influence the development of school pride, civic pride, and self-pride. It is clear that the introduction of the program with “expectations” fosters a variety of effects.
