The process of these studies is as follows.
a. Casting the molten steel into die cavity.
b. Putting the formed powder of WC mixed with binder for the hard facing on the steel surface in the molten or solidifying state.
c. Pressing immediately and forming.
Our experimental results are obtained as follows.
a. Hardness is Hv 2300 by micro-Vickers-tester.
b. Wear resistance is five times as high as that of ordinary cemented carbide.
These results are attributed to use the ultra fine powder of tungsten carbide, mixing stirring and grinding done in vacuum and adsorbed nickel particle on the surface of tungsten carbide.
