Optimum control of pump power is investigated when ON/OFF control pumps are used for the supply of chilled water from thermal storage tanks. However, it is not dealt with linear programming as ON/OFF control pump's power is nonlinear characteristics. In the previous paper, we proposed a practical approximation method about optimum control of heating and cooling plant with thermal storage tanks using linear programming. This method takes a short time to obtain the solution and we showed that running cost of the plant was reduced compared to the real operation by applying this method. However, this method excluded pump power because ON/OFF control pump has strong non-linearity.In this paper, we show that the supply schedule of chilled water from the thermal storage tanks, which was obtained using the previous approximation method, achieves optimization of pump power.

This report described the risk management method for building environment & facilities. It was considered that four phases, at first it was the significance, purpose and fundamental of this study. The second, it evaluated the qualitative risk and process of risk. The third, it suggested the Risk Mapping. Therefore it shows the trial of map making for risk management. And we present the risk evaluation process for building environment & facilities, i.e. there are the class definition on risk evaluation process, the phase of risk evaluation process, risk management method and many trial to evaluate risk level. This paper has emphasized the importance of having the risk management for building environment & facilities.

The monthly energy consumption in the residential sector of seven cities in Hokkaido and Tohoku regions were estimated by using statistical data on family income and expenditures and retail price surveys provided by the statistical bureau of Japan. By using the estimated values of energy consumption, the authors studied on the influence of air temperature on the residential energy consumption. Based on the regression analyses, the monthly electricity consumption per household in each city except Sapporo is expressed as a quadratic function of air temperature. Total consumption of gas and kerosene is expressed as different regression formulae in periods of rising and falling air temperature respectively.

The monthly energy consumption in the residential sector of seventeen cities in Kanto and Chubu regions were estimated by using statistical data on family income and expenditures and retail price surveys provided by the statistical bureau of Japan. By using the estimated values of energy consumption, the authors studied on the influence of air temperature on the residential energy consumption. The regression analyses showed that there is good correlation between the monthly mean air temperature and the energy consumption in each city. The amounts of the monthly electricity, total gas, and kerosene consumption per household in each city are expressed as quadratic, linear, and quadratic functions of the monthly mean air temperature respectively.

In this study, we are investigating about the bioethanol steam reforming system (FBSR) using solar radiation. The potentiality of the installation to the house and micro-grid of this system is examined. In the 1st report, the amount of production of reformed gas was calculated using the solar radiation data of the domestic representative field. From this result, the amount of outputs of the power and the heat of a PEM-FC was clarified. In this paper, the high-speed analysis method of FBSR using neural network algorithm is proposed. When operation of the system with a high speed and high degree of accuracy can be planned, operation of FBSR in real time can be optimized. Moreover, the high-speed analysis method to propose can be introduced into a system controller. Calculation precision was investigated comparing the operation plan of FBSR analyzed with the developed algorithm with the result of Genetic Algorithm.

Design of a drainage pipe is designed by regular flow rate method of SHASE-S206. In this steady flow quantity method, q_d becomes an important factor. This q_d should have the numerical value that is peculiar to every individual hygiene appliance, but q_d adopts 1.0L/s in this standard without asking it Japanese style and a Western style bathtub. Therefore, this study calculated q_d in a kind of a bathtub, the depth of the water of a bathtub, a drainage diameter, a condition of or directly indirect drainage. As a result, it became clear that there was a difference in q_d every each item matter and suggested q_d.

Boiler manufacturer Buderus of Germany has been manufacturing various heating components since 1731. Boilers were exported to Japan in the 1920s and were In important buildings of that era, contributing to the development of building services technology in this country. The authors have acquired historically valuable information from the old catalogue of Buderus which was published in 1895. The authors report in this paper on german cast iron space heating stove in 1895.
