The movement of a mineral grain which is under the influence of a stream of water flowing gver a smooth, slightly inclined plane is, more or less, of impo Ttance, as well as interest, in wet gravity concentration. However there are only a few empirical formulae for this problem, and that they are generally simple and rough.
J. Finkey dealt with the problemdynamically in his work “Die wissenschaftlichen Grundlagen der nassen Erzaufbereitung”, but his formulae is a theoretical one, and it is doubtful if his formulae is goodfor the practice.
Therefore, the present writer checked his formulae, and made experiments to induce an empirical formulae as Richard did his from Rittinger and Stokes formulae for various minerals.
