Due to the spread of COVID-19, telemedicine and online medical treatment have been attracting attention in terms of infection prevention and home medical care.
However, telemedicine devices do not consider color reproduction, which causes a risk of a misdiagnosis compared to face-to-face treatment. To solve this problem, we developed a color-conscious telemedicine tool. The tool consists of a color chart that includes human skin color and tongue color and an application for iOS devices. As a result of evaluation with the cooperation of doctors, we confirmed that using the tool is more effective than not using it.
In this article, specific cases of DX (Digital Transformation) in Japanese cosmetics are reviewed, focusing on makeup color. The COVID-19 crisis has rapidly accelerated the introduction of DX in the cosmetics market, which had not progressed much until then. As a result, not only digitization of physical experiences in real stores, such as online counseling and virtual makeup, but also novel experiences originating in the digital world were created. However, it is important not to lose sight of the final goal of DX in cosmetics, which is improvement of the total customer experience by further integration of experiences and data in the physical and digital worlds.
This paper examines the needs of DX and the elements to realize DX, mainly on automotive exterior coating. And, the measurement equipment which can measure the element related to the texture is applied, the simulation and matching technology of both color and texture, and the development to CG are described, and examples in fields such as exterior color development, paint manufacturing, QC management, and automobile repair are described.
