This paper provides an algorithm to guarantee upper bounds on the
l∞ norms of multiple outputs, given
l2 norm bounds on multiple input disturbances. The results are demonstrated on the JPL Large Spacecraft Control Laboratory (LSCL) facility at the California Institute of Technology. Modal Cost Analysis (MCA) is used for the model reduction, and output
l∞ constraints are guaranteed by the control design (for the design model). The main motivation of this experiment is to find the controller with the “best”
l∞ performance when a controller (based upon a design model) drives the actual plant.
