This paper describes the features of the newly designed digital differential analyzer and some of its applications. This DDA is the incremental part of the digital hybrid computer, the other part is the stored program whole number computer. The both part can be mutually controlled by interruption. The former consists of the 28 digital integrators and the same number of digital potentiometers using magnetostrictive delay lines. One of its features is in the function of the decision element, whose output
dz is determined not only by sign of
y and by
dx input, but also by comparison of contents of
y and
r registers. This is very usefull for generation of nonlinear functions, such as saturation, dead zone, backlash, hysteresis, peak holder and discontinuities as well as switching and branching computing processes. The application examples as well as solutions of some nonlinear equations, function and pattern generations, Fourier synthesis, conversion and mapping of output figures are shown.
