Pollen analytical studies were conducted on the Unit1-2 of Bushi Formation in Azu, Hanno City. The fossil pollen assemblages were characterized by
Picea,Pinus, Tsuga, Pseudolarix, Metasequoia - type,
Cryptomeria, Alnus, Fagus and
Quercus(
Lepidobalanus).Paleovagetation can be presumed to be the coniferous forest and the deciduous broad - leaved forest of the cool temperate zone level. Swamp forest indicated at
Alnus,
Metasequoia with partly
Fraxinus mandshurica. Climatic condition was cooler or slightly cooler than that of the present.
Fossil pollen assemblage included extinct taxa,
Pseudolarix, Metasequoia, Cunninghamia, Cyclocarya, Hemiptelea.
Cyclocarya fossil pollen identified have 4-5 germinal aperture and thickness of exine more than
Juglans - Pterocarya fossil pollen.
