We calculate the subleading power suppressed corrections arising from the three parton Fock state of the fast recoil of the final state mesons in the decays of B mesons into two pseudoscalar light mesons. The expressions of the associated corrections are given up to one loop order.

In the framework of SU(2) singlet down type vectorlike quark model, we present a comprehensive analysis for decays B→X_γ, B→X_sl^+l^- and B→Kπ. Usingthe recent measurements of B→X_sl^+l^-, we extract rather stringent constraints on the size and CP violating phase of z_<sb>, i.e., the tree level FCNC coupling for b→sZ. Within the bounds, we investigate various observables. We find that (1) The forward-backward asymmetry may have large derivation from that of the SM and is very sensitive to z_<sb>, and thus can be useful in probing the new physics. (2) By taking experimental errors at 2σ level, both experimental measurements for B→X_sl^+l^- and B→Kπ decays can be explained in this model.

Recent combined results from the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) and Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) provide a remarkable set of data which requires more accurate and general investigation. Here we derive formulae for the power spectrum P(k) of the density perturbations produced during inflation in the general slow-roll approximation with second order corrections.

We construct SU(N) super Yang-Mills theories with extended supersymmetry on hypercubic lattices of various dimensions keeping one or two supercharges exactly. It is based on topological field theory formulation for the super Yang-Mills theories. Gauge fields are represented by compact unitary link variables, and the exact supercharges on the lattice are nilpotent up to gauge transformations. In particular, the lattice models are free from the vacuum degeneracy problem, which was encountered in earlier approaches. Thus, we do not need to introduce any supersymmetry breaking terms, and the exact supersymmetry is preserved wholly in the process of taking the continuum limit. Among the models, we show that the desired continuum theories are obtained without any fine tuning of parameters for the cases N=2,4,8 in two-dimensions. Also, the cases N=4,8 in three-dimensions are investigated, and a problem arising in four-dimensional models is discussed.

We propose a higher dimensional scenario to solve the gauge hierarchy problem. In our formulation, a crucial observation is that a supersymmetric structure is hidden in the 4d spectrum of any gauge invariant theories with compact extra dimensions and that the gauge symmetry breaking is directly related to the supersymmetry breaking.

We have pointed out that an anomalous U(1)_A gauge symmetry naturally solves various problems in grand unified theories (GUTs). In addition, a horizontal gauge symmetry not only realizes the unification of three generation quarks and leptons in fewer multiplets but also solves the supersymmetric flavor problem. In this article, we examine the possibility that the Higgs sector of the GUT symmetry and that of the horizontal symmetry are unified.

General aspects of the quantization of field theories non-local in time are discussed. The path integral on the basis of Schwinger's action principle and the Bjorken-Johnson-Low prescription, which helps to recover the canonical structure from the results of the path integral, are used as the main machinery. A modified time ordering operation which formally restores unitarity in field theories non-local in time is analyzed in detail. It is shown that the perturbative unitarity and the positive energy condition, in the sense that only the positive energy flows in the positive time direction for any fixed time-slice in space-time, are not simultaneously satisfied for theories non-local in time such as space-time noncommutative theory.
