A data acquisition system for superconducting gravimetry capable of high-rate sampling is developed based on the real-time computer operating system called RT-Linux. In this system, the real-time process for controlling GPIB devices is triggered by CPU interrupt requests raised by the hardware real-time clock that has the interface to an external time source, and is executed with the highest priority among all the processes under the control of the RT-Linux kernel. This enables continuous, high-resolution and gap-free sampling at the rate around power line frequency, as well as strict synchronization of the system clock to the universal time. Preliminary tests of the system applied to superconducting gravimeter observation have given a satisfactory result. This opens up the possibility of the use of the analog antialias filters with much higher cutoff frequencies and therefore with much less effect of long-term degradation of the electronics
