Recently, nonwoven polyester absorption material, which is environment-friendly, good for working conditions, recyclable, and highly durable, has been widely used in the fields of railroad, automobiles, and other traffic systems. In this study, we first clarified the relationship between the airflow resistance of this material, which is an important design factor, and its sound absorption characteristics. Second, to obtain better sound absorption characteristics, we attempted surface vibration of multi-layers combined using hot melt film. As a result, we improved the sound absorption characteristics of the frequency band in industrial machines (500Hz-2kHz) by 20-30% without increasing the thickness of the absorption material.
