This study aims to develop a construction method for reducing structure borne noise in low frequency noise regions that is generated from an elevated bridge. This construction method introduces an additional vibration pair by applying passive vibration to a floor slab of an elevated bridge in order to emit anti-phase sound waves of the structure noise. As for the actual construction method, ideally, the increase in load on the bridge should be as small as possible;however, there should be sufficient weight so that the additional vibration pair has the desired effect. The effectiveness of the proposed construction method in its ability to reduce sound pressure was verified via a model experiment and via FEM analysis.
