In cross-cultural projects, the mechanism to avoid misunderstandings due to the different organizational cultures is very important. The basic approach of the project leaders is to make orders or to explain in low-context simple languages, in this point of view. The strategy to make use of the commonly understandable knowledge area and the trans-organizational application of various project management tools (PM-tools) to facilitate the sharing of the project related knowledge among the organizations is important to support the leader's effort. To make effort repeatedly to share the understandings of the objects of the project, progress status information or the problems encountered among all the project organizations will leads to establish a new project-wide culture that enables high quality execution of the project.

Initial risk management, which is a stage where project managers have to identify risks and plan ways for avoidance and mitigation of risks, is the important stage for successful software development projects. This paper presents an initial risk management method, which consists of a guide, a procedure, a worksheet and a training guideline, from experience and knowledge of the authors. To evaluate the guide and procedure, we have inspected 13 failed projects and applied the guide and procedure to 9 successful projects.

The progress of the information technology accelerates the globally connection of the manufacturing systems, and it also generates the new type production style which is assisted by the collaboration of the core competence of each companies. In this paper, the availability of a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite communication system is required as one of the network technology to realize the decentralized manufacturing project. The result of experiment, which uses the VSAT satellite communication system, shows the simple linearity between the number of communications and the total delay times for communications. According to this and the other experimental result, the feasibility of the decentralized manufacturing project which is connected by the VSAT satellite communication system is shown.

According to the research by ISO, more than 430,000 organizations in 158 countries have obtained the ISO9000 series certification the end of 2001. NTT Data Technology which belongs to the software industry has obtained the certification of ISO9001 in 1999. In other words, NTT Data Technology has established own quality management system for the software production process by the standardization. In addition to the establishment of the quality management system, the exercise of ISO9001 has contributed to manage the software production project. The managerial aspects other than the quality, such as time and cost are guided by ISO10006. In this paper, I examine how the quality management system by ISO9001 has certified the criteria or guide line for the project management by ISO10006.

The number of e-Business system users, both cumulative and potential, is incalculable. In particular, the number of transactions that is likely to concentrate on the B2C system is virtually impossible to estimate. Load testing examines such concentration of transactions in the form of "loads". While the enormous numbers of transactions are actually loaded using software, many test cases do not proceed smoothly as planned. Reasons vary from the difference in how one views load testing, the method of setting the appropriate timing for the testing, to limitations in testing tools. This article proposes ten conditions for the success of load testing by suggesting solutions for ten anti patterns.

This paper introduces the case of promoting standardization in a newly established subsidiary company specialized in information system service. The company consists of several divisions, and each division has its own "present standard". But their own standards should be unified with a "company-wide standard (ideal model)", and the "new standard" which is unified and efficient should be established. I'll describe about a method to promote the standardization.
