This report is based on study of heat processing methods for raw material of Nos. 7, 8 and 11 dusts for industrial testing.
These dusts have been developed chiefly for dust collecter standard test dust and are heat processed from Kanto-loam.
The optimum heat processing condition is determined from view point of absorbability of the heated material for moisture and brittleness of the processed material during the grinding process.
Kantô-loam heated up to 700°C is not satisfactory for standard test dust, because it is readily damped and the repeatability of results is not obtained. In the experiments, material for grinding is heated at 800°C, because material heated above 800°C is sturdy for damping and stable for grinding.
The relation of the heat processing conditions versus the absorbability and brittleness are shown.
