JOURNAL FREE ACCESSThis report is based on study of heat processing methods for raw material of Nos. 7, 8 and 11 dusts for industrial testing.
These dusts have been developed chiefly for dust collecter standard test dust and are heat processed from Kanto-loam.
The optimum heat processing condition is determined from view point of absorbability of the heated material for moisture and brittleness of the processed material during the grinding process.
Kantô-loam heated up to 700°C is not satisfactory for standard test dust, because it is readily damped and the repeatability of results is not obtained. In the experiments, material for grinding is heated at 800°C, because material heated above 800°C is sturdy for damping and stable for grinding.

JOURNAL FREE ACCESSIt is one of the important factors in the design of a pneumatic convyor to sellect appropriate bend pipes so that the deposition and the crushing of the solid particles to be conveyed are avoided as much as possible with as the minimum pressure drop.
First, this paper deals with the fundamental analysis on the velocity distribution of the flow of air and the pressure drop in two-dimensional bend pipes by the finite element method.
Secondary, it shows the relationships among the shape of the bend pipe, the behavior of the particles and the prssure drop in it experimentelly.
It finally shows the appropriate shape of the bend pipe in the pneumatic conveyor for granular materials.View full abstractDownload PDF (2677K) -
