Flow of particulate matter systems in a rotating cylinder was studied. On the basis of the results obtained, the inside of the rotating cylinder was divided into the six following zones:
(1) an empty zone,
(2) a zone of pseudoparabolic path,
(3) a zone of mixing in which “segregating screens” were supposed,
(4) an inactive zone,
(5) a zone of preparatory circular path in which “punched shells” were supposed, and
(6) a zone of circular path in which “shells” were supposed.
The new model presented here was named “the 3rd model”. On the other hand, the density of particulate matter systems in the rotating cylinder was calculated statistically.
And it was found that the distribution of density corresponded fairly well to the 3rd model.
