There is a growing interest to introduce energy saving algorithms, which balance energy efficiency with residents’ comfortability, into building energy management system (BEMS). However, the following issues hinder development of the algorithm: no-existence of tool chains for creating and validating the algorithm for engineers, and difficulties for implementing the algorithm as software in legacy BEMS due to lack of expansibility of the architecture.
In the paper, we proposed a system architecture on micro-services concept, which produces flexibility for expanding new functions in BEMS, and well-designed service modules, which realizes tool chains for developing energy saving algorithm. The architecture and the service modules were implemented and confirmed their usefulness by applying them to the field test.
