Recently, small-scale power systems such as microgrids are gaining popularity in communities that include consumers and prosumers. An efficient and flexible energy management tool is required to control the energy generation (e.g. photovoltaic (PV)) and storage devices (e.g. storage battery (BT)) of the home/building/community microgrids. In this paper, we propose a new energy management system (EMS) tool which consists of PVs and BTs, several converters, their connection line DC bus, and AC loads via an inverter; considering connected/unconnected status to a private distribution line. We evaluate a business continuity plan (BCP) by using the proposed EMS tool for islanded microgrids.
