A conventional temperature compensation IC system is required to provide an oscillating capacity change-over switch in order that a normal type pace measuring instrument can be used. The new temperature compensation IC system we developed here has realized an "all logical adjustment" without an oscillating capacity change-over switch by introducing a "new method of a pace expression". It has become easier to provide a watch with high accuracy by use of the "all logical adjustment".

This paper describes the frequency temperature characteristics and electrical characteristics of a new shape X cut longitudinal quartz crystal resonator. According to miniaturization of consumer products and communication equipments, miniaturization of a quartz crystal resonator which is used for them is also required. Simultaneously, automatic assembly lines by use of robots are positively adopted in manufacturing processes. Under these circumstances, a surface mounting type quartz crystal resonator is required and to achieve this requisite, a new design of the resonator including a supporting method is naturally needed. This paper proposes a new shape longitudinal quartz crystal resonator, and analyses and examines frequency temperature characteristics and electrical ones of the resonator. In analysis procedure, first, equation of motion for a new shape longitudinal quartz crystal resonator consisting of a vibrational portion and supporting portions is derived by an energy method. From the obtained equation of motion, a frequency equation is calculated. Next, frequency temperature characteristics and electrical ones of the resonator are analysed, and the analysed results are compared with the experimental values. Consequently, it is shown that both results agree well.

A new data bank watch named Phone Dialer has been developed. It is capable to dial the push-button telephone by being coupled acoustically to the telephone handsets. The technical feature are as follws:(1) The low power Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) generator is driven by low voltage (3 V lithium battery) and low frequency (32768 Hz quartz oscillator). (2) One chip C-MOS LSI contains DTMF generator, LPF's (switched capacity), and amplifiers of sound transducer as well as data bank watch functions. (3) A small size dynamic type sound transducer (φ=10.4 mm, t=4.0 mm) is characterized by lower resonance frequency (f_0). In this paper, these features are described.
