In case of fabricating watch IC, slimness, compactness, and low cost are needed. So, we adopt "half potting" method for the watch IC package. But the movement of watches is exposed to the light of the sun or some illuminations while they are repaired or the battery is replaced. Once the IC is exposed to the light, power consumption increases and rate shift or rarely oscillation stop occurs. We report here the result of investigation on the light-resistance of the IC package by the effect of wavelength of light and that of color agent blended to resin, and so on.
