This paper describes the first in the world digital clock provided with the printer function. This clock, Timeprinter YJ60, is able to set time and date easily and to print them on any types of paper. The Timeprinter has been realized by the development of our original printer and of our electronic circuit combining two functions. The one function is time counting, and the other function is printer controlling.

The Cal. 5T・7T series are the multi-functional analogue quartz timepieces which movement can be widely applied for chronograph, alarm, timer, worldtime display, and so on. This can be realized by the development of the CPU-IC, the bi-rotational stepping motor, and the compact and widely useful mechanism. Not only the movement size but also the operational easiness, legibility, and repairability are greatly improved as compared with the conventional multi-function watches. This paper describes the electronic circuit system and the bi-rotational stepping motor of the Cal. 5T・7T series.

A sports watch, "Altimeter", Cal. C040/C046, for outdoor sports such as mountain climbing and sky sports has been successfully produced. This watch can measure atmospheric pressure by means of semiconductor sensor, and permits calculation of altitude. The development of a pressure sensor which is highly sensible and an atmospheric pressure measuring IC which is highly reliable and low in power consumption has realized the production of this watch. An altimeter which is compact, accurate, and possible to measure even at -20℃ is equipped to this watch.

This paper describes a new-type multi-functional quartz analogue watch named Cal. 8M. The Cal. 8M has been developed basing on the concept that the two hands are independently driven by respective motor, and that the time unit indicated by the hands changes according to the selected mode. This permits a very easy and simple operation. The two hands put on the same axis are driven forward and backward at a high speed so that the hands play a role of realizing many functions. The Cal. 8M is provided with a crown for selecting a mode and two push switches for controlling the hands. Up to 6 modes are available. The selected mode appears on the display screen by the mode display hand which links to the rotation of the crown. The Cal. 8M is a microcomputer-controlled analogue watch, and therefore, a wide variety of functions ranging from sports to business, such as alarm and triple times, are available only by changing the program stored in this microcomputer. This microcomputer is an one-chip and built-in type for use in analogue watches. A well known coaxial two-hand system used in this caliber has cleared the limits in design, and also has realized a versatile design flexibility which meets the users needs such as sports, business, and formal event.
