Watches are increasingly regarded as small information equipment these days in terms of their compactness and portability. However, watches themselves are still insufficient for use as small information equipment. An attempt was made to enhance the serviceability of watches as small information equipment by using a personal computer to make up for their insufficiency. The system is comprised of a watch with a depth gauge, a personal computer, and an interface unit that acts as an intermediary for the watch and personal computer. Depth data, water temperature data, and log data collected during the elapsed time and read into a watch with a epth gauge are transmitted to a personal computer. The personal computer processes, stores, and displays those data, thus permitting the utilization of the portability of a watch and the data processing capacity of a personal computer.
