General discussions with regard to the motion map (cf・Part 1 ) of the step motor used for time pieces are made in the first part of this paper. In the part, it is explained that there are many kinds of area on the motion map corresponding to various step motions. The following facts are stated and the explanations are given for them : (1) odd step motions like -1, 1, 3, 5, etc. and zero step motion have a tendency to appear on the motion map, (2) even step motions like -2, 2, 4, etc. have not tendency to appear. In the last part of this paper, the influence of the motor parameters upon the stability of the step motion is stated. In this part, the following three parameters are considered:(1) moment of inertia of the rotor, (2) viscous friction and (3) dry friction acting on the rotor. From the observation of the pattern on the motion map, it is concluded that the smaller the moment of inertia is, or the larger the viscous or the dry friction is, the more the stability of the step motion increases.
