According to the guidelines of child care and education for day-care center, child care aims to prepare young children for their future. However, little is known about teachers’ specialty revolving around their thinking related to the link between society and child care. Therefore, we based on Mantaro Kido’s work to provide a clearer understanding of teachers’ specialty that alters the educational practice as we referred to the society. It suggested that he developed the theory of teachers’ specialty based on two main points. Firstly, children’s development resulting from learning technology alters our life. Second, he urged teachers obtain two types of cultures, one is the knowledge of educational technology related to child care, and the other is the social responsibility developed through the reflections. Because through educational practices, teachers play the role of determining the types of technology to pass on to children. In conclusion, he theorized that nursery school teachers must learn the culture by observing social conditions and altering educational practice in order to pass on adult’s technology which in turn develop their life and society in the future. His theory draws attention to the relationship between nursery school teacher’s specialty and today’s social condition.
