    Relation between the functions derived in the former reports and variation in sales quantity of a new product has been discussed.
    It was concluded that the sales quantity of a new product in unit time is proportional to the number of people who bought the new product in unit time except for a model A.Where the model A, which was discussed in the second report, is applicable to the case in that the people who have abandoned the product for reason of damage and so on are expected to buy new one simultaneously with abandoning.
    In the case of model A, variation of sales quantity of a new product shows similar trend to variation of the number of people who bought the product in a basic model during short period after the start of sales .In a while, it becomes proportional to a number of people possessing the new product in the basic model.Where the basic model, which was discussed in the first report, is applicable to the case in that the new product which has beenbought is held for ever.
    A“Transfer Model”has been proposed.This model can be applied to the case that a old type product possesed by the people is successively replaced by a new type product.Using this transfer model, it has been shown that the number of people possessing the old type product is given by the maximum number of people possessing the old type product minus the number of people possessing the new type product in case of model A .
    It has been confirmed that the sales quantity variation of regular pantyhose and support pantyhose can be well explained by the transfer model and the formulas for model A.

    In previous section of this report, we discussed about“Sense of Impropriety”of clothes which feels in a “situation”of a random arrangement of people through a sensory evaluation experiment by dolls model .In this report, we aimed to examine the arrangement of groups by the dolls model as well as previous section of this report, and to attempt making the quantification for the sense of impropriety.As to the experiment method, we use the four types for arrangement of aggregation, and the others are similar to previous section of this report. As a result, there is a positive effect when the number wearing the same clothes as the subject increase between a number of dolls as stimulus and the sense of impropriety as well as the random arrangement, and this was found in according with Stevens's Law.And in aggregations of groups of the same number, the sense of impropriety varies with the arrangement of the groups.The sense of impropriety is also influenced by the arrangement.Especially, the sense of impropriety is low when the other clothes aggregation gathers to one side, it is high when the other clothes aggregation divided into both sides.Moreover, the sense of impropriety has changed by the effect of arrangement joining though it is a result in the random arrangement only in clothes effect when seeing from individual clothes, too.Therefore, it was found that the sense of impropriety of “aggregation” was under the influence of not only the quantitative effect and clothes effect but also the effect of arrangement.

    This study aimed to clarify the difference in the consciousness of shame in dressing between the generations of female students and their mothers, and the relationship between their consciousness and clothing behaviors, The shame consciousness scale made by this study consists of 4 factors (1.body-emphasizing dressing, 2, distasteful dressing, 3.unsuitable dressing and 4.disgraceful dressing) and 20 items.An investigation was made in respects of 20 items for the consciousness of shame, 15 for the consciousness of dressing well and 20 for the consciousness of dressing norm in 159 female students and their mothers in December 1998 .Evaluation was made by 5-step rating method according to SD method.Analysis of the difference in the respective items between the two generations revealed that the mother's generation had a tendency to show higher points in the items for the consciousness of shame and those for the consciousness of dressing norm than the student's one . On the other hand, the latter generation showed higher points in the items for the consciousness of dressing well. in addition, the subjects that showed high points in the items for the consciousness of shame were apt to have higher points in those for dressing norm.

    A sensory test for clothing images was performed by the paired comparison method, using color photographs of wearers in different pants styles.Regardless of the variations of the tops and the characters of the wearers, significant differences in the wearer images were found among the pants styles;'showy', 'well-shaped', attractive', 'accented', 'smart', 'light', 'loose', and'slender'.These eight images were related to the characteristics in each styles of pants.On the other hand, some clothing images showed no significant difference, which seemed to be caused either by the characters of the wearers or the coordination of the pants with the tops .The characteristics of the images in each style of pants were as follows : the images of the wide pants styles were unfavorable, appearing'subdued', 'badly-shaped', etc;the images of the bootscut pants styles were favorable, appearing'well-shaped', 'attractive', etc;the images of the straight pants styles were in general neutral, but some images were not different from those of the wide or the bootscut styles.On the basis of these findings, we can conclude that young women tend to prefer such styles as the bootscut design which makes them appear smart or slender and to avoid such styles as the wide design which makes them appear fat, which the wearer images of the straight design are influenced by the characters of the wearers and the coordinated tops.

    This study was designed to examine whether or not social comparison effect, comparative appraisals, was observed on clothing evaluation. Fifteen female clothing assigned to each of subdued-showy, casual-dressy, light-heavy, or individualistic-ordinary dimension were selected among 50 clothing through Thurstone's judgment method. The 15 clothing included in subdued-showy dimension were divided into 5 categories : “moderately subdued”, . “slightly subdued”, “neutral”, “slightly showy”, “moderately showy”, according to the degree of the subduedness-showyness. The clothing in the other, dimensions were also done, as were subdued-showy dimension .
    Out of the 5 categories, nine clothing assigned to 3 categories in the absence of 2 categories assigned to “moderately” or “slightly” for each dimension was shown as photographs to female college students who were not subjected to the evaluation for the 15 clothing in the 5 categories. The 9 clothing fallen within 3 categories were evaluated in 7 grades, using SD scale of each dimension.
    Mean values of each clothing evaluated in the 9 clothing of 3 categories were compared with those of each clothing done in the 15 clothing of 5 categories. The results suggested the mean values of “moderately” category clothing evaluated in the absence of “slightly” categories tended to shift to the “slightly”, whereas the values of “slightly” category clothing done in the absence of “moderately” categories tended to shift to the “moderately”.These revealed that comparative appraisals influenced clothing evaluation.
