It is well known that the fatigues of the valve springs of internal combustion engines often give rise near the ends of them by their vibration.
To avoid these fatigue failures, are used variable pitch valve springs, which supposed in vibration, the coils situated near the ends of them come in contact each other, and absorve the energy of vibration.
The authers ascertained by the experiments, that the variable pitch valve springs reduced its amplitudes and shearing stresses of coils in vibration, absorving more energies of vibration, than the constant pitch springs.
