In order to clarify the effect of blade loading on the flow fields including a rotating stall cell, the structure and behavior of a rotating stall cell were experimentally investigated in the diagonal flow fans with different blade loading. The total pressure-rise coefficient at design flow-rate for each fan is 0.250 and 0.345. The static pressure on outer casing and the total pressure at rotor inlet were measured using a high responded pressure transducer. The measured data were processed by the use of DPLA technique, and the structure and behavior of a rotating stall cell were obtained for each fan. As a result, the size of stall cell becomes large for circumferential and radial direction and the propagating speed of stall cell becomes slow, as the blade loading increases. However, when the blade loading increase, large diffences are not seen for the basic structure, propagating form and the features of the flow fields with a rotating stall cell.
