We investigated on succession of vegetation by a method of slope protection in South Alps forestry road (Ashiyasu-Yashagin path) . The summarized results of the investigation were as follows;
1. The vegetation by this slope protection method was kept in steeper slope than the vegetation by general methods.
2. The species of the vegetation were mainly seeding species such as
Dactyris glomorata,
Festuca arundinacea, but native plants such as
Miscanthus sinensis,
Polygonum cuspidatumwere 10 percent in occurrence ratio. And then we can make that the succession of this vegetation progressed a little.
3. The vegetation cover ratio of under parts of a slope was better than upper parts of a slope, but there were more invader shrubs upper parts of a slope.
4. The occurrence ratio of
Miscanthus sinensis,
Polygonum cuspidatumof the invader species had relation to the vegetation cover ratio of seeding species, but the occurrence ratio of
Rubus crataegifolius,
Lespedeza bicolorTurcz.
