This paper addresses a study on reconstruction of image signal with zero-crossings and additional information based on dyadic wavelet transform. At first, zero-crossing points are detected by using the dyadic wavelet trnsform based on the multiresolution analysis. The image signal is reconstructed with the iteration method of the projection onto convex sets. Convex sets used are obtained from the wavelet transform space and the other space which is constructed from zero-crossing points and the local extremal value between two zero-crossing points. In order to prove the proposed algorithm, simulation results are presented.

In this paper the accuracy of the second directional derivative edge detector is analyzed, and compared with the accuracy of the Laplacian edge detector. It is shown that the second directional derivative performs better than the Laplacian. The conditions under which errors are small compared to the standard deviation of the smoothing filter are obtained.

This paper proposes a new human head tracking method processed by a local spiral labeling with CAM (Content Addressable Memory). The local spiral labeling processing was proposed in order to improve one of shortcomings of a TV telephone. The labeling processing, however, needs huge processing time and memories in order to compute relations between label numbers. CAM has some functions to search and write the plural contents of the memory at the same time. It is fit for a real time labeling processing. This paper shows a labeling algorithm utilizing CAM and a example of human head tracking processing.

A split type optical head employing a pair of relay lenses for the focus control is an effective way to shorten the access time; it has, however, a drawback that the write power varies in accordance with the displacement of the relay lens. We have tried to suppress the write power fluctuation by detecting the displacement using a lowpass filter which has the transfer function of the focus actuator. As a result the power fluctuation has been reduced considerably.
