PIV technique is a flow-measurement method suitable for quantitative analysis of various flow problems. Although many algorithms have been recently developed to solve for various flows, it is still difficult to understand complex flows, especially turbulent flows in complex structures, such as tube-banks of heat exchangers. This paper studied complex flows to make suitable flow-dataset from velocity components measured by PIV. POD analysis is a very strong technique for this purpose. Coherent modes playing dominant roles in the flow are extracted with POD analysis. Trials to reconstruct noiseless flow-dataset with POD modes were carried out.
