    When one considers printing system as a typical intermedia transfer, one must be careful enough about the human behaviour in hardcopy observation whereby one not only captures the information involved therein, but, at the same time, recognizes intuitively the materials of which that hardcopy is made . The paper first discusses how the differences in the appearances of the photographic print and the lithographic print come from from the viewpoint of composing material. Then, the differences in the image quality attributes between the color transparency images and those printed lithographically are described. Finally, how such differences are treated at the media transfer is discussed.

    The High-Vision TV gallery system introduced to the Museum of Fine Art, Gifu, in April 1989 employs still pictures presented on a high definition television screen. As such, it has commanded the attention of many quarters, being the first attempt of its kind in the world. At the same time, the system was rated highly as a new approach to an museum education. In this paper, the writer intends to discuss the active utilization of high-definitionTV technology by using the case of the Museum of Fine Art. Gifu, as an example.

    Recently, interactive multimedia are getting popular in the homes. CD-I(Compact Disc Inter-active) standard boasts a global compativility in its software and hardware, besidesa very easy user-operation. So, CD-I is expecting a large market in Electronic Publishing Media. Inter-active multimedia are: sounds, characters, still pictures, partial update movie, etc., whitch are combined dynamically. Still more. CD-I software are able to make use of its processing abillity. CD-I will support MPEG-1 full motion video in fall 1993, we will present CD-I's possibility and the current conditions.

    Recently, demands of full color digital images are increasing, because powerful PC is getting popular and price is reduced rapidly. But the scanning of color film has much difficulty,and requires experience or special technique. Kodak PhotoCD provide easy method to get full color digital images. This Paper describes digitizing and conversion technique on Kodak PhotoCD.
