The robot cameras are frequently used at the opening cut of news programs and so on. They are important for reports of the weather and seasonal scenery. NHK has robot cameras at 18 places in Kinki area, and their places are increasing. This robot camera central control system can connect or disconnect with robot camera and its controller, change controllers, select video monitors inputs; with simple touch panel operations. So we can accept productions which use a number of places of robot cameras.

For TV broadcast of sport events (overeas & demestic) a large-scale Chyron had to be equipped at the event-site to superimpose necessary data (scores, ranks, players' names, etc.) according to the development of such sport event. MBS has developed a remote-controlled superinposing system which enables real-time superimposing of such data h this system a computer connects the broadcasting headquarter and the event-site usihg domcstio/international commnications circuit and send!5 necessary data to the Chyron which is equipped at the broadcasting headquarters and the superimpose appears on the screen real-time. This system helped reduce the burden of large mechanical eqnipments for outside broadcast, whether it is overseas or domestic and make crew's job efficent MBS is still working on further improvement of this system.

Frame synchronaizer (FS) is useful in the broad casting system. But video signal is delayed to audio signal by FS. Therefore it occur a difference of transmission time between video signal and audio signal. But There has been no method to measure a difference of transmission time between video signal and audio signal, We have suggested the measurement method for a difference of transmission time between video signal and audio signal, and developed the practical measurement system which is called AV Syncronizer.

NHK has developed SKIP BACK RECORDER(SBR) which provides delayed video and audio signals to Video Cassette Recorder(VCR) by 5(or 10) seconds by using semiconductor memory. By the use of SBR in video recording systems, we are certainly able to record the climax of sudden unpredictable incident even if we start recording just after it happens. Therefore, it will be unnecessary to keep VCR operation all the time waiting for the climax as it was before, which reduces wasteful tape running greatly.
