Euthalia thibetana complex (4 species) are illustrated with descriptions of the main superspecific and specific characters, notes on geographic variation and bionomics. Figures of male genitalia are provided. E. thibetana Complex E. thibetana, E formosana, E. alpherakyi and E. undosa, are here recognized as belonging to this species complex. The four species are similar both in facies and male genitalia, and uncertainty attaches to the specific status of some taxa. E. thibetana complex are characterized as follows: (1) The upper surface of the antenna black, not tipped with yellowish. (2) Both wings the median band placed much as in Eurasian White admiral. A clearly defined spot always present in space 1b, the spot in space 2 overlapping the former. (3) Hindwing, the median band always extending from the costa to space 1b. (4) All the species have the male genitalia of an identical pattern, except for slight differences found around the tip of the valva. The tegumen over 2.5 times as tall as the vinculum. Saccus short. Valva long and slender. Two little known Euthalia species, Dophla curvifascia Tytler, 1914 from Naga Hills and Manipur, and Dophla pulchella Lee, 1979, have the wing pattern similar to that of thibetana complex. But the two are not closely related to the complex. The former, lacking a spot in space 1b on the forewing above, may be allied to E. khama (vide Evans, 1932). The latter, in which the spot in space 2 on the forewing does not overlap the spot in space 1b, should be allied to E. pratti. E. thibetana Both wings rather tall in shape, with the median band narrow and inwardly almost straight. In Taiwan essentially a denizen of the forested hill above 1,200m. W. China, C. China and Taiwan. E. formosana Endemic to Taiwan. The median band broad and not edged with dark lines on the hindwing above, though generally the band is narrower in examples from the Northern area. Male genitalia as thibetana except weakly developed teeth of the valva. The species is a submontane forest dweller usually found below 1,000m in altitude. E. alpherakyi The median band distally edged with conspicuous zigzag lines and markedly narrowed towards the tornus on the hindwing. Significant external differences could not be found between the types of E. alpherakyi and E. aristides except for the size. Here the latter is tentatively treated as conspecific with the former. Male genitalia as thibetana. W. China incl. Yunnan. E. undosa Forewing apically more or less produced in ♂, the median band variable in width and inwardly curved. Geographical variation of the colour and pattern marked in this species. Ssp. undosa from W. China has the colouration typical of this complex, with the median band distally edged with undulate lines. In sspp. from S. and S.E. China the band changes to cream white to pure white. Both the forms have the male genitalia identical, with the tip of the valva markedly twisted. W., S. and S.E. China.
