In this paper, I will explore the metatheory in
    psychology
and human science in relation to Dilthey's
    psychology
. I will utilize two methods. First, I will examine Dilthey's
    psychology
in late 19th-century Germany. I have found that Dilthey's
    psychology
has two characteristics; not only empirical
    psychology
    but also metatheory of
    psychology
. However, due to this ambiguity his
    psychology
was criticized by both psychologists and philosophers in his day. And at the same time, the metatheory which his
    psychology
contained vanished from the main stream of
    psychology
    . Second, I will reconsider Dilthey's
    psychology
from these two characteristics. His empirical
    psychology
is the foundation of various sciences in that it stands between the sciences and their object. On the other hand, his meta-
    psychology
    provides a principle to his
    psychology
which is considered a basic science. As a result, Dilthey's meta-
    psychology
opens up a world of a person-centered point of view to
    psychology
    and the human sciences.

The conflict has pointed out between clinical
    psychology
    and academic
    psychology
in Japan. A possible solution to the conflict will emerge on the model of British Psychological Association. The clinical
    psychology
, the psychotherapy and the counselling are different professions in Britain, since the type of work and the training system of each healthcare professionals is highly specialized in Britain. The practice of clinical psychologist is based on the policy of the scientist-practitioner model and the principle of the evidence-based practice. The area of abnormal
    psychology
    in British
    psychology
has functioned as a mediator between clinical
    psychology
    and academic
    psychology
in Britain. In contrast, the science-based clinical psychologist is a minority group in Japanese psychologists, although psychotherapy and counselling are prosperous in Japan. Abnormal
    psychology
is premature in Japan, so a conflict emerge between clinical and academic
    psychology
. It was proposed to establish science-based clinical
    psychology
    and abnormal
    psychology
in Japan in order to resolve the conflict.

This paper outlines a conceptual framework of cross-cultural research and its implications forthe advancement of Japanese social
    psychology
. The cross-cultural approach represents an alternative scientific paradigm that supplements, complements, and extends existing theories and methodsin social
    psychology
    . While social
    psychology
adopted the natural sciences approach in definingthe field, the cross-cultural
    psychology
bridges the natural sciences tradition with cultural sciencesapproach. This integration closely parallels Wilhelm Wundt's original paradigmatic framework.Wundt articulated the need to integrate cultural level analysis or Volkerpsychologie (ethnopsychology) with the individual experimental analysis to formulate a holistic or ganzheit
    psychology
    . Japanese social
    psychology
has been influenced by individualistic theories and methods developed in social
    psychology
. Individualistic assumptions, methods, and goals are, however, incongruent with the relational and collective orientation of Japanese culture and people. The present authors will review the current research in individualism and collectivism to highlight the utility ofthe cross-cultural approach and its implications for developing an alternative research frameworkthat is rooted in Japanese cultural context.

    psychology
recently. It means "what and how to teach
    psychology
in University for general and students specialized in
    psychology
". In the field of the Japanese language teaching, "
    psychology
" is included in Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test. But there is few studies about "
    Psychology
Education" in the Japanese language teaching. "
    Psychology
Education" has three meaning in the Japanese language teaching field, for teachers, students who study the Japanese language teaching and learners of Japanese language. This paper aims to discuss "
    Psychology
Education" in the field of the Japanese language teaching especially post-graduate education of teaching. "
    Psychology
Education" is important to gain cognitive and metacognitive knowledge for "self development". But "how to teach

    " needs more discussion.

    Contemporary
    psychology
hasn't been considered to have the "theory", but guided by the principle of naïve "positivism" or "empiricism." The aim of the present article is to describe the importance of the theoretical studies in modern
    psychology
. One of the reasons that theoretical
    psychology
has never been regarded as a major field of
    psychology
seems psychologists's misunderstanding what the "theory of
    psychology
" is. This article describes first what the "theory of
    psychology
" should include, according to the famous thought experiment "Chinese Room" (Searle, 1980). Second, how theories and facts are related each other in science is discussed following the long history of the research development in physics. It is argued that the "theory" is not directly related to empirical data (fact), but is mediated by "models" that translate the "theory" to be applied to the fact. This is against the intuitive view that theories of science must be directly tested by empirical data. Moreover, this framework delineates how theoretical approach and experimental approach should be related in scientific approach of
    psychology
. The idea of the necessity of theoretical
    psychology
    should contribute to education in
    psychology
. Especially, it can provide "formal language" for education of theoretical research of
    psychology
    .

The role speech plays in cognition has long been an important topic among psychologists and philosophers. Köhler and Koffka, representatives of the Gestalt school, presented a unique method with field theory. The field theory in Gestalt
    psychology
, namely behavioral field theory, breaks through the duality between agents and their behavioral environment, providing a new way to explain behavior. However, unlike sense data, speech does not appear in the sensory field, which generally be regarded as an important part of the behavioral field. Humans’ behavioral field is constituted not only of the sensory field but also of the verbal field. This paper discusses how the verbal field influences cognition and behavior. With verbal field theory, we know what is meant by "limited liberty" of humans in Koffka’s theory of volition. We will see that although humans have voluntary actions, humans have not been liberated from the domination of the field.

Clinical neuropsychology is an applied science concerned with brain-behavior relationship. It has regarded individual approach as well as scientific approach as important since the object is in the filed of clinical medicine. Therefore, it can be said the liaison area of not only basic

    psychology
    but also medicine and
    psychology
. It can be said one area where the base ties to clinical, and is hoped for the development in

    psychology
, acquisition of basic methodology like the experiment, knowledge of clinical
    psychology
and skill of interview, knowledge and technique of neuroscience, basic medical knowledge, and communications skills are required as a specialist. Establishment of educational system for this is one of the important matters. The role at the university in the future will be to bring upon the expert of
    psychology
who can discuss with the specialists in other fields, and to keep practice of research and clinical work.

The purposes of this paper are to clarify the principles behind the teaching strategies of the
    psychology
courses in high schools and to consider the place of the
    psychology
courses in the curriculum of secondary schools. In this paper, the author tries to evaluate The Human Behavior Curriculum Project (HBCP) developed in 1981 by the American Psychological Association in collaboration with high school teachers. The project director is John Bare. The units of the HBCP is consisted 8 modules which are Natural Behavior in Humans & Animals, Changing Attitudes, States of Consciousness, Language & Communication, School Life & Organizational
    Psychology
, Conditioning & Learning, Social Influences on Behavior, and Studying Personality. Each unit has a students' text book and a teacher handbook. The results of the analysis are: 1) the purposes of the HBCP are teaching how the human behavior is observed systematically, that there is enough regularity in human thought and behavior, and that human
    psychology
has diversities as well as similarities; 2) the role of
    psychology
courses in secondary schools is teaching how we use the principles of the
    psychology
to understand why do people as they do; 3) the study of
    psychology
promotes students' self-recognition; and 4) this self-recognition is necessary for students to be responsible adults.

This paper reported that the introduction of calling cards and discussions to a teaching method influenced students' interest and cognition. Subjects were 237 college students. In April, they were asked to tell their own images about
    psychology
. Many students were very interested in
    psychology
and psychological tests. On the other hand, many students misunderstood that
    psychology
was similar to telling fortunes, or that personalities were different according to the blood type. They were lectured by means of calling cards and discussions for four months. In July, they were asked again to answer the some questionnaire. As a result, they remained interested in
    psychology
and psychological tests, but they denied the thinking of
    psychology
as telling fortunes and denied the relationships between the blood types and personalities. The above results may suggest that the calling cards and discussions are useful methods that can increase students' motivation and understanding of
    psychology
    .

    The contribution of educational

    psychology
to society was examined from the perspective of practicality, relative to Japan and mainly to school education. In particular, the discussion was focused on how “researchers” working in universities were involved in school education and how they interacted with “practitioners”. First, the history of educational
    psychology
was reviewed, which indicated that the first generation of researchers regarded this subject as a field of applied
    psychology
. The second generation of researchers considered educational
    psychology
    independent from
    psychology
, and practical research was considered important by the third generation. In this evolutionary of thinking, approaches to educational
    psychology
have been revised. Nevertheless, the “educational” and “practical” content of the subject has not been fully investigated to date. Therefore, the attitudes of the third generation of researchers toward practice were classified into three models: the “Doraemon” model, joint development model, and consultation model. The significance and problems of each model were examined, and the conventional framework with the conflict between the terms, “theory” and “application” as well as “research” and “practice” was re-evaluated. It was concluded that the major contribution made by educational
    psychology
was in the process of learning, which has resulted from professional and mutually beneficial interactions between researchers and practitioners.

Furthermore, referring to “dreambody,” which is a somatic deep psychotherapeutic approach, we will discuss how the body itself always shows meaning, from a teleological viewpoint and with some therapeutic cases.

Several studies on scientific replication and meta-analytic approaches have illustrated the issue of low reproducibility or low effect size in

    psychology
and related fields. Herein, the author described not only the problems generally underlying fields (e.g., questionable research practices and misconduct) but also problems specific to cognitive
    psychology
. Reproducibility or effect size of experimental studies has gathered little attention from researchers in cognitive
    psychology
. In addition, the lack of cognitive studies on researchers in cognitive
    psychology
is related to the disregard for motivational factors on the reproduction/replication problems. Based on the understanding of these issues, the author discusses how future cognitive

    psychology
training, 2) introducing competence for professional
    psychology
, and 3) summarizing stress and resilience research in sport
    psychology
following by suggestions for future performance
    psychology
consultation. Consultation work based on sport science, especially sport
    psychology
and related disciplines have been implemented in sport domain. However, it has been unclear who could be qualify as consultants training athlete, coach, and organization. Performance
    psychology
professionals are required to make sure fulfilling the competency. Applying scientific knowledge and methods to the consultation is a one of the competencies. Understanding the research trend of stress and resilience should be able to help consultants delivering effective service to athlete and coach. Based on recent research, delivering programs to develop individual resilience and team resilience should be able to help athletes, teams, and coaches to deal with performance related and organizational related stress rather than provide them coping strategies. Delivering a meaningful and fruitful program will empower athlete, team, and coach for positive change which may lead to social change. Importance of applying a good theory to practice is suggested.

    In the field of
    psychology
, there are two origins of concerns of justice. One is the
    psychology
of justice, which arose from the equity theory developed J.S. Adams in the field of social
    psychology
. The other is cognitive-developmental theory on human morality developed by J. Piaget and L. Kohlberg in the field of developmental
    psychology
    . In
    psychology
of justice, at the beginnings of 1970's, J. Thibaut conducted research on procedural justice and then psychologists and lawyers have come to share concerns to procedure.
Kohlberg's theory has an influence on the current social philosophy such as Rawls' and Herbermas' and the concept of justice in law.
