The aims of this study were to reveal the characteristics of developmental process of the “Daycare Business” in Japan after WWII.
Based on this study, the following was revealed. The existence of two development processes were confirmed; the developmental process of the support system in kindergarten and nursery schools for young children with disabilities and “Daycare Business” from the 1960s to the1980s.
“Daycare Business” included the consultation function of supporting disabled children. This indicated that “Daycare Business” was multifunctionalized. Based on these factors, it became possible to have expert support for kindergarten and nursery school young children with disabilities.
In the 1980s, the support network was strengthened by the urban districts in the Tokyo Metropolis.
