The thiol compounds, thiophenol-formalin, oxythiophenol-formalin, aminothiophenol-formalin, and thioglycolic acid anilid-formalin resins were synthesized, and their redox potentials and redox capacities were measured.
As these compouds were newly synthesized ones their structures were presumed from the analysis of S or N. They are as follow,
thiophenol-formalin-resin _??_
oxythiophenol-formalin-resin
aminothiophenol-formalin-resin
thioglycolic acid, anilid-formalin-resin thioglycolic acid 1 mol. /anilin 2 mol.
The redox reactions of them proceeded slower, redoxpot entials were higher than those of the starting materials (monomer).
In this report it is concluded that those -SH containing compounds may be appreciated as redox resins, and the application of them to the practical use will be expected.
