The sedimentary uranium deposit at Asabatake district, Tôgômine, occurs in arkose sandstone, tuff bed over the granite base covering by the basalt, andesite. The bottom of channel formation is rich in uranium.
The boring machines are three types; TAP-1 (Tone Boring Co.), Portable borer (Ashio Engineering Works) and Air Augar with Jack leg (Ashio Engineering Works) and the detection of radio-activity is used by SU-P4W detecter.
The TAP-1 boring machine can be driven to 30-50 meters in depth. It is defficult to remove the place owing to heavy weight, but the drilling speed is very great and stable.
Portable borer is capable to 10-30 meters in depth.
These machines are used to the hollow round steel rod by 1m×28mm. The leg auger is driven to 5m in depth, with spiral rod.
This experimental report is related the detective counts with uranium ore grade, adaptability to the estimation of ore reserves, working efficiency and costs.
