This chronology is the fourth in a series of publications on comparative food culture. Having previously examined Japanese food culture in the Taisyo and Meiji eras, the Edo era and the Jomon and Momoyama eras, this installment in the series will cover a portion of the Showa era, from 1926 to 1960.
The authors have compiled information on 422 chronological items from 251 sources, including 48 print publications and 203 electronic publications. In this chronology, food culture phenomenon is classified in the same manner as that of the previous papers in this series.
