In order to reduce CO2 emission, an energy system which is combined with electric vehicle and photovoltaic power generation has been proposed. On the other hand, battery-powered electric train for some local railway lines has been developed. This train can utilize not only to be its high efficiency but also to construct a smart community around the area along the railway lines. In this study, an energy system which is combined with the battery-powered electric train and photovoltaic power generation has studied through the use of a mathematical model and experimental data from references. As the result, the power consumption of this train can be replaced with above 30% of photovoltaic power generation. And, it is clarified that the proposed system can reduce CO2 emission by 60% compared with a conventional diesel train system which is used by kibi line in Okayama.
