We made such a device that it keeps a constant linear speed when driven along a curve.
In this devie, using the resolver and the servo-motors, we produce X and Y directional velocities, the magnitudes of which are proportional to the sine and the cosine, respectively, of the curves inclination with respect to the X-axis. We get the constant linear speed by adding the X and Y directional velocities as vectors.
In analyzing the behavior of the device, we introduce a new idea of “an imaginative triangle”, the motion of which expresses that of the detector. By using this triangle, the process of approaching of the detector to the curve and the other characters of the device can be clearly explained. This kind of analysis has been done little to date.
The results of experiments show that this device has attained its objective and our method of analyzing the behavior is reasonable.
