As one of the influences of submarine of Snorkel type upon human body, the author has investigated the influence of intermittently variable pressure, which had been burdened to decrease and to recover over again. By opening and closing of the head valve of Snorkel, pressure decreaced to 586mmHg and cardio-pulmonary function and blood were examined in raddits and rats. About human body, blood etc were examined in a little higher pressure than 586mmHg. Then the examined group had been divided into two grous, an hour group and two hour group, according to the duration of burdening.
The results were as follows.
I. Animal
1. The tendency of increasing in the weight was appearee after 8 days after finishing the burdening.None had increased in the weight during those burdening period.
2. As the view of blood, it was admitted that the number of erythrocytes gradually slightey increased, and the number of leucscytes, the quantity of hemoglobin and the number of eosinophile cells gradually decreased after the burdening. It was observed from the reselts that the burdening acted as rather strong stress for bodies.
3. From the result of the measuring oxygen saturation by Oximeter in peripheral artery, 2 cases showed middle grade of hypoxaemia and another 2 cases showed arhythmia in E. K. G. during the bardenig. Health diagnssis concerning cardio-pulmonary function seemed to be especially necessary at the time of such burdening.
4. From the obduction, swelling of suprarenal body, especially of pulp, was admitted.
II. Human body
About the examination of human body, the view of blood was almost as same as in the cases of animall and it was expected that repeated variation of air pressure acted as comparatively strong stress for human bodies even if the air pressure was rather low (ex. coressponing to 1500m).
