In this paper, the influence of factors affecting the effective thermal conductivity (λ
e) of rock-water slurry is discussed.
First, assuming that the volume fraction of a discontinuous phase (Φ
v) was not so large, a modelwas considered. Then, with this model the heat conduction equation was constructed and solved by the iteration method todetermineλ
e.
The main results obtained are as follows:
(1) The ratio (
R) of the thermal conductivity of a discontinuous phase (λ
d) to that of a continuous phase (λ
c) has a great influence uponλ
e.
(2) According to the direction of a particle against heat flow, λe varies greatly with the increases of
R and Φ.
(3) The results of numerical computations are well explained for
R>>1 by the empirical formula which has already obtained by the electrolyticbath method.
